Annual Golf Outing
On May 23 Freedom Wrestling held their 14th annual golf outing fundraiser at Southmoore Country Club. We had over 60 golfers participate. To see pictures of the event please click here.

2009 District XI Championships
On 2/20/09 and 2/21/09 Varsity District XI Championships were held at Liberty High School. Freedom placed very well with 6 wrestlers placing in the top 8 places. Robert Detweiler, Tom Higgins and Mason McIntyre advance to the Regionals being held on 2/27/09 and 2/28/09 at Freedom High School. Sean Searfass and Dio Curry both placed 7th and Tyler Galasso placed 8th. Freedom as a team ended the tournament 10th out of 20 teams. Congratulations to all the wrestlers for doing a fantastic job and competing to the best of their ability.

2009 Junior High District Tournament
Congratulations to the Junior High wrestling team for an outstanding season and district tournament! Congratulations to District Champion-Evan Kauffman, 4th place-Cory Gonzalez, 5th place-Cody Gonzalez and 6th place-Josh Young. The team wrestled very well and finished in 13th place out of 42 teams!!!

2009 Junior Varsity District Tournament

Senior Night
On January 14, 2009 Freedom High School held Senior Night to honor 4 wrestling seniors. Those seniors were Nick Trapani, Robert Detweiler, Zach Grube and Sean Searfass. Sletebelt Showdown
On December 28th, our Junior High team went to Bangor for its annual Slatebelt Showdown. As always the tournament held stiff competition in which Freedom ranked 2nd out of 15 strong teams. We had 9 place in the top 3 positions, they were:

Whitehall Christmas Classic
On December 13th, our Junior High team went to Whitehall for its annual Whitehall Christmas Classic. For many of our wrestlers it was there first tournament but all battled very hard and up kept Freedom High Schools reputation as being a strong wrestling school. 5 of our wrestlers placed in the top 5 in their weight brackets:

Southeastern Varsity / Junior Varsity Tournament
On December 5th and 6th the Varsity and Junior Varsity wrestlers traveled to Spring-Ford for the annual Southeastern Tournament. Our wrestlers once again faced very stiff competition. After a rough second round they battled back fairly well to finish the tournament on a positive note. Congratulations to Varsity place winners: Bob Detweiler 3rd, Mason McIntyre 3rd, Matt Klacik 4th and Dylan Markwith 6th.
Also to JV place winners: Joe Hyams 1st, Paul Schwartz 2nd, Charles Russo 4th, Chad Lopez 6th and Jeren Rivera 6th.
Congratulations to all our wrestlers who competed, as they all showed a strong heart and the non-quitting spirit that Freedom High School is noted for.

Kickoff Dinner
On November 17th the Patriot Wrestling club held its annual Wrestling kickoff dinner. We had over 90 in attendance which included wrestlers, parents, & coach's with wives/girlfriends. The dinner was another huge success as Coach McIntyre addressed his hopes for the season and Laura Fortes talked about the importance of the Booster Club. To view pictures of the event, Click Here.

Bethlehem Fall Classic 2008
On November 16th the Bethlehem Fall Classic 2008 Midget Tournament took place at Freedom High School in the new gym. The event was sponsored by the Patriot Wrestling Club, and the Bulldog wrestling clubs. Overall the tournament was a huge success pulling in close to 300 competitors all under the age of 13 (over 50 more than last year) representing over 76 teams. Competitors came from as far away as Delaware, and Virginia. We have received very positive feedback from the wrestling community in this event and hope that next year will be even bigger and better. We would like to thank everyone for making the tournament such a big success. Thanks to all of our volunteers who helped run tables, worked and baked goods at the concession stand, and who worked security with whom we would not have been able to run such a smooth event.
